Blogging, the keys to awesomeness...

I was going through my WordPress app the other day and I realized that I haven't posted anything on either of my blogs there. On my tech blog I even have a draff that I started called "Why I switched back to Android from the iPhone?" that I need to finish and post even though it's been almost 2 years!

I think my life has been so hectic over the past year or so that I have only been focusing on this main blog. I think I get so caught up in thinking that I have to create long posts that that's probably why I don't blog as much on my other two. Maybe I try to do a better job of posting just small things or things that interest me in them. Like if I read an article or find a recipe or something. I could link to it or just mention it it a quick post.

What I should do is create a habit for it in my habit app to alert me to post in them weekly as well or maybe bi-weekly. I have to decide what I want to do with them. I also think I need to maybe add a blogroll to my page so I can add them here. I'll get it done soon. That's it for now faithful few.

Until next week...

Blogging is my side vice or Sometimes I learn things...

I have been slacking a lot lately with my other blogs... ( Vegetarian and Tech )

I don't blog as often as I like on them which kind of bothers me being as though they aren't as extensive as a blog as this one. They are basically off shoots of this one, my main blog. I mean I am always taking pics of food or trying new things as a vegetarian that I could post over on the vegetarian blog...I am a tech geek so there shouldn't be any reason why I don't post often on my tech blog. I am actually in the process of writing a really long post for my tech blog on why I switched back to android from the IOS ecosystem.

Its really no excuse. They both are WordPress blogs and I have the WordPress app on just about every device that I own and its real easy to post from it so there is definitely no excuse. Maybe I'll try to make sure going forward to post pics, articles and whatever I can related to both of them. Got to get back into the habit of sharing my discoveries.

Until next time...

Getting it done...

I have a lot that I want to share with you guys but not this week. This week I just have another image of the piece I sold a few weeks ago. It's still a little rough around the edges though. I should be finished it tomorrow but I wanted to show you guys where it's at now. Also next week I'll post images of the work I am putting in the 6X6X2013 at Rochester Contemporary Art Center in Rochester, NY.

I got a couple of blog posts that I have been writing on and off for the past couple of months. One is a blog that I am writing for my tech blog but I want to post it here to share with you guys so come back for that soon.

Until next week...

Something simple nothing major...

So on this late Saturday night before bed, I am going to strive to do something quite simple.  I am going to try and make use of all my technology at my disposal and feel out schedule for this month...a list of things I know that need to get done, my work schedule, my mini vacay and whatsnots.  I've tried to do this before but it was just something that I had online.  I had access to it but I never carried it around with me.  Now and this modern day of electronic day planners and such, I have no real excuse not to be on point with deadlines and things of the like.

That is all.  Like the title says Something simple nothing major... Until next week...

Time...Time keeps on passing me by...

You ever wonder where all the time goes...?  I mean seriously...Every week it seems that Sunday hits and before I know it, I am sharing with you guys.  Which means Saturday is upon us...I then start to wonder where all the time in the week has gone.  Not too mention where the year has gone to.

Time management then becomes something of the essence.  For me that has always been a struggle.  There have been a plenty of times that I have let time slip away because of poor time management.  The  past few years I have gotten better, definitely this year.  I have found that by setting reminders and goals for myself have really helped me to keep on track...usually.  Its not a perfect system but its been working out for me.  Especially being tethered to technology:)

Last couple of years I have been trying to steer clear of setting New Years' Resolutions but this year if I have to have one; I would say it would be "To wisely take advantage of improving my time management" skills.  I have too many mechanisms at my disposal not to be more cognizant of time.  I believe that its just one of my holdover traits of being a procrastinator.  Gotta work on shaking it.

Well, faithful few, that's all I have for you guy this week.  Until the next time...

The Mac Attack or Take a bite out of the APPLE...

Hey faithful few!  I am typing this weeks post, my first of the last month of the year, on my brand new MacBook Pro.  I have been using it for almost a week now and I gotta say playing around in this OSX ecosystem has been fun.  I'm not saying that its better than Windows but for the devices that I currently own (iPad and iPhone) it handles them quite well.  One of the main reasons is iCloud.  It really works in unison with all the devices.  One thing that APPLE still sucks at is iMessages but that not what this blog is about today.

One day I might feel differently but I gotta say right now I am loving being an Apple Fanboy.  I am still getting used to the different nuisances of the OS but I have to say its a really fluid experience.  I believe that is do to the IOS feel of OS X Mountain Lion.  The swiping, the gestures, the setup of OS...everything about this this system under the hood of a baseline system is great.  When it comes to power in cased in simplicity, Apple really shines.  As windows begins to really push high-end systems, that in some way mimic the simplicity of Apple, I am curious to see how they do.  I have had some experience with Windows 8 and right now in my opinion, it is really geared to the touchscreen  experience.  I just wonder if the influx of Windows Ultrabooks will catch up to what Windows 8 is.  In the mean time if you are in the market for a new computer and have never had a Mac, I would suggest you give it a try.  You'll be glad you did.  I know I am.  Until next time...

Death of a Computer...Or Equivalent Exchange

So for sometime now I figured my computer was going to go kaputsky. 2 of my 4 USB ports have been non-functional for over a year...the display used to fizzle out on me a lot and sometimes the computer would cut off or go to sleep while I was in the middle of doing something. Then a few months ago, my DVD burner ceased to function anymore. So I figured I had a couple of months to go as I'd plan on getting something new for my birthday. But this past week my computer had plans of its on. It felt it after 3 long years of being a workhorse that it wanted to be retired. So it as a whole ceased to function. So I had to move on early then I wanted/had planned on.

In the early hours of the morning on Black Friday, I became an "unofficial" Apple fanboy. I say unofficial because I am still apart of the android ecosystem due to my Nexus 7 so I don't quite bleed Apple through and through...Even though I used Macs some in college, I credit the missus with getting me into the modern iteration of Apple (she had an iPhone and I almost fell in love with it instantaneously). After that I always had an iPhone handy with what ever phone I actually had when I was with T-Mobile that way I could switch out the sim card and still enjoy carrying an iPhone from time to time. I also got the 1st gen iPad and then I upgraded to the 2nd gen iPad. But through all of that, I've had a PC. That all changed at 3:47AM on the morning of November 23rd. I purchased a MacBook Pro. I am pretty excited about getting to know this ecosystem as an everyday user. Having an iPhone and an iPad is in away being apart of it but actually using the ecosystem as a whole is something entirely different. Right off the bat I had to make a decision on whether or not I was going to get a MacBook Air or MacBook Pro. From the reviews and countless videos I watched on YouTube, it was clear the obvious choice was the MacBook Pro seeing as though I plan on using a lot of The Adobe Suite and there were reports of the MacBook Air overheating pretty quick...not too mention that I would have to buy the upgrades to it right away as upgrading it afterwards meant having to take it to an apple store or buying the next model up. So I settled on getting the Pro. I should have it in my possession on Monday and I will share my initial experience with you guys at some point I'm the near future. Until then...

RANDOM SNAPSHOTS...

So faithful few as I promised you guys last week, here are a few photos I took this week. Next week I will give you guys a roundup of a couple of programs I just installed on my computer. I haven't played around with them much yet but I am pretty excited about. Also see if you guys can notice anything in the photos that might seem odd or strange. Something's are obvious and some you really have to "GAZE" at to notice. Enjoy.

So until next week...

Feeling quite creative, or HEY! Look what I did...

Hello faithful few, I am feeling a lot better this week.  It's been exactly a week since we buried my Mom. I am still dealing with that internal but I am feeling quite inspired and motivated to making sure I do what I have to do to be more productive and to move forward with my life.  No more excuses. No more holding back. This is actually the third blog I have written the past 2 days; the second one today.  My other two blogs can be found here and here. Feel free to follow them as well.  I don't update them as frequently as I do this one but I  do occasionally post to them. My post on those blogs are more random. So let's get to discussing some good ol' art.

This week I have two pieces of work that I would like to share with you guys.  The first piece is from my series of work that I started on a few weeks ago involving Lynching and the second piece is an abstract piece.  I have yet to decide where the second piece fit in with what I have been trying to do.  I can say that the 2nd one was born out of an exchange with me and the GF. So without further ado...

The topmost picture is the finished image.  I included a close-up pic for you guys so you could see more of how I moved the medium around and also see how I let some of the texture of the paper show through.

Now the second piece is still a work in progress.  I can tell you guys that it is the same piece from my last post of last year.  You can find that post "richea" The first image is what I came up with after multiple applications of paint and masking off of areas.

The next image is what the painting looks like after I have removed all of the masking tape.

The last three images are just details of the full image. The two sides and down the center of the image.

The left side...

 The right side...

And the final image, down the center...

One day I will get myself I better digital camera so I can take higher res photos for you guys.  I used my iPad to take these pictures and it didn't really do the pics a lot of justice.  I mean in some of the detail photos you can still see the multiple layers and textures but at a higher resolution, you can really see the depth of this piece.  In person it has a lot of energy and vibrancy. In some spots of the painting, I am thinking about going in and pulling back out some of the hard edges.  Through the miracle of modern technology, I am going to undertake this task without actually altering the image.  That way I can see if it really needs it or if I should leave it as is. And as usual, whatever I do, I will be sure to inform you guys of the progress.  Until next week...

A New Year is Coming...

Hello faithful few...the New Year is among us and you know I don't feel like its really here yet.  For me the New Year begins 11 days later (Jan 12, my born day) Anywho...I thought I would share pics with you guys this weekend.  I did say that I would. So I'm quit my yapping and get right into sharing.

These first set of images are of my Rhinacorn figure. The body is a Munny vinyl toy from Kid Robot that I am currently painting and the helmet that I made and shared with you guys a few weeks ago. I still have a bit of work to do on Munny so I will keep you guys updated.  Next...

Now these images are images of a painting I am working on. It has already gone through quite a few transformations as you can see. I love the process of adding and taking away from something. Nothing like a little deconstructing to get the creative juices flowing.

I also wanted to let you guys know that this week I finally started my tech blog. You can check it out at techwiz9.wordpress.com.  I don't know how often I will blog there but I will try to do it as often as I can find something that I have done or something I have read/seen that is blog-worthy.

That's all I have for you guys this week. I hope you guys have a safe and enjoyable New Years.
